What are your thoughts on Satan being loosed as mentioned in Revelation 20? Do you perhaps see a connection to 1776 (the much celebrated year of ‘liberty’)? There certainly have been a wide range of uniquely massive deceptions foisted on humanity during this time.
Good question. I do believe Satan is loosed by now, the problem is that the “Satan’s little season” folks who’ve sprouted up lately are totally bonkers and give that view a bad name. I obviously don’t believe in mud fluds, a past millennial reign in Tartaria, or any of the other nonsense. But I do think Satan was loosed at some point. There is a good argument to be made for the 1776 general time period, when the Second Beast of Revelation arose from the sea. But it also could have been as late as say 2020. The key is that he doesn’t deceive the nations until he’s loosed again, and so that makes me lean closer to 2020. But really any time in that ballpark (1776-2020) I see no problem with. It also doesn’t really matter too much when exactly it occurred, so I don’t focus on it much but it is an interesting question to consider.
Right, it’s very annoying that talk of the little season has basically been hijacked by a group of people that attach a whole set of extra beliefs around it. I appreciate their search for truth, but I agree they’ve found themselves down the wrong path.
While I agree 2020 was an absolute abomination, there were definitely a couple hundred years worth of massive deceptions that have found a solid foothold globally that played into 2020 turning out as it did. Anyway, knowing the year isn’t all that important, but I enjoy hearing others thoughts on the matter.
